Cyber Awareness & GDPR Business Breakfast - 11th May 2017
On Thursday 11th May in conjunction with Sampson Hall, we held a Business Breakfast seminar at Exeter Racecourse. Our goal was to educate and inform our guests on the practicalities of how you can safeguard yourself and your business before, during and after a potential cyber-attack or data breach.
The session required no technical background and was aimed at Business Owners, Board Members, those responsible for information security, HR Directors, Leaders and Managers of teams and those responsible for the companies insurance. We even had a guest presenter; Adam Atkins from Global Insurer Hiscox who discussed the importance of cover and the benefits of having access to a crisis management team.
The seminar covered the following areas:
General Data Protection Regulations – An overview of the new rules and regulation and how you can prepare your business to be compliant before May 2018.
Cyber Attacks & Data Breaches – Phil Sampson discussed how you can reduce both internal and external threats to your business, taking into consideration your employees, business processes and systems.
Cyber Insurance – Geoff Gale highlighted the key benefits of cyber insurance and how the cover works in practice.
Crisis Management – When your business is hit by a cyber-attack or data breach, what do you do? This is when your insurance can make a real difference. This was brought to life by Development Underwriter, Adam Atkins from Hiscox UK.
We were delighted to see so many of our clients in attendance, at what we hope was a useful and informative seminar. Exeter Racecourse were a fantastic venue and did a great job of looking after us.
